What is “Echoes from Northamptonshire”? Echoes – Minerva Scientifica has been touring the UK for four years celebrating the histories of the UK’s forgotten female scientists, through the medium of song, music, performance and spoken word. This special programme (NOW ONLINE!) features music by women composers and local connections with flight, from the bats and moths at Pitsford Water to Women Flight Engineers like Northamptonshire’s Lilian Bader – one of the first black women to join the WAAF – and whose family had 3 generations serving in the armed forces. Our researchers have found fascinating women from across the county whose exploits will astonish you and – if you are from Northamptonshire – make you very proud indeed!
