A day of singing, history and Scottish connections at Conway Hall with the director of Electric Voice Theatre, Frances M Lynch, herself a Scot! We will begin the day with breathe and body work for relaxation and well-being, progress to the New Year music of Conway Hall’s cherished composer, Eliza Flower and her favourite songs by Robert Burns, finishing with a celebration – invite your friends and family along.

In 1829 the Flower sisters – Sarah, the poet, and Eliza, the composer – left London for an adventurous tour of Scotland. Every year thereafter, in honour of Sarah’s triumph at being the fastest lady to ascend Ben Lomond, the family held a ceilidh which would have reflected their love of the poetry and songs of Robert Burns.

Eliza and Sarah are important figures in the history of Conway Hall so we are thrilled to introduce them to you through the songs of Scotland’s Bard.

The day includes;

  • Tea or coffee on arrival
  • Well-being and relaxation warm ups and breathing exercises
  • Finding new techniques to help improve your voice
  • Singing songs for the season by Eliza Flower & Robert Burns
  • A light lunch
  • A Tour of historic Conway Hall
  • A performance for ourselves and your friends and family

We can promise a day of Joy for January!

To book please email electricvoicetheatre@googlemail.com with the title Festive Gifts Workshop and we will send the booking instructions. NB the workshop day is not designed for children.
