Essex Virtual Choir
ESSEX VIRTUAL CHOIR
Join our celebration of Essex’s splendid women of science in song!
We will be breathing (always good), warming up our voices, getting some good vocal exercise, and some gentle physical exercise too, and getting involved in helping create and sing a song for the women of science and music – our own group of women who are Essex’ Minerva Scientifica – and all without leaving our living rooms.
This is a perfect session for families to get together and sing, at the same time finding out some amazing things about local women – and telling us some stories of your own!
You don’t need any experience, you don’t even need to feel you can sing because no-one will hear you – your microphone will be off – so you can make any noise you like! – and you don’t have to put your camera on either. Of course we welcome experienced singers too – everyone can join in the fun.
If you would like to record the songs once we reach our final sessions, we will guide you through how to do – it’s very easy. There will be tracks and word sheets on the Chelmsford Civic Theatre website for you to practice and sing along to every week. We will put all your recordings together and make our own amazing chorus of Essex voices for everyone to hear.
Choir Leader: Frances M Lynch, Artistic Director of Electric Voice Theatre
There will be a special session as part of Soundings from Essex (our Monday night music, art and conversation events) in September when your efforts will be premiered – we’ll let you know more details later on so you can join in.
NB – The sessions will be recorded by for marketing purposes but please rest assured that you will not be required to have your camera or microphone on during the sessions so participants will not appear in the recordings if they do not wish to. Please register via this link.
