Marjory Kennedy-Fraser (1857 – 1930)

Marjory Kennedy Fraser was a collector of songs from the Gaelic tradition. Her work took these beautiful melodies to a wider audience by setting them for piano and taking them into the concert hall. “In Hebrid Seas” is just one that references the seas that this remarkable woman traversed in all weathers. It was noted from the singing of Joan Stuart, Coll. Lewis, and arranged for voice and piano with English words by Marjory Kennedy-Fraser.
