June 2021 has turned out to be a landmark month for electric voice theatre and the Minerva Scientifica project. Not only do we have 3 important birthdays to celebrate (see below), but we are also marking Windrush Day on the 22nd with our Windrush Medicine Podcast, created last year for Echoes from Essex which features the voices of 4 nurses and midwifes who arrived in Essex from the Caribbean.
On the 1st & 2nd of June we were invited by Prof. Nicholas Till from the Centre for Research in Opera and Music-Theatre at the University of Sussex to run our first workshop on for “Misfolding”. This project is a fascinating journey into the world of Alzheimers and the important scientific research being undertaken at the Serpell Lab. Find out more about “Misfolding” here

And – if that wasn’t enough – electric voice theatre has finally become a registered charity (CIO) NO.1194881 as of June 21st 2021, Midsummer…….and there will be more to report on this matter soon!

In the meantime – check out the links on the birthday celebrations and podcasts below and explore our EVENTS CALENDAR.

June Birthday Celebrations

Our June Minerva Scientifica Birthday Celebrations are bursting with music & electrifying stories – literally!

We have a pair of zoologists who were childhood friends in Aberdeen; 2 Essex Girls who have dabbled in the world of WW2 spies and 2 doctors working 100 years apart whose stories from the front line (Serbia in WW1 & Covid wards in Edinburgh in 2020) are both moving and fascinating.
